Obama Administration Continues to Provide Exemptions from ObamaCare

The number of waivers is now up to 222, including many unions. If he truly believes his plan is so wonderful and necessary for the basic needs of our country, why does he continue to provide exemptions to those who say it will be harmful to their employees? Why are the unions who mobilized their members to attend town hall meetings and demand that all of us be covered by this plan, now request to be excluded?

Obama Justice Department Sues to Protect Islamic Ritual

Earlier the Obama Justice Department dropped charges against the Black Panthers who were convicted of voter intimidation. Several DOJ insiders reported the order came from top department bosses who were political appointees of Obama. Now the DOJ files charges against a Chicago school who refused a teachers leave request to travel to Mecca to perform the Islamic Hajj.

WASHINGTON – The federal government sued a suburban Chicago school district Monday for denying a Muslim middle school teacher unpaid leave to make a pilgrimage to Mecca that is a central part of her religion.

In a civil rights case, the department said the school district in Berkeley, Ill., denied the request of Safoorah Khan on grounds that her requested leave was unrelated to her professional duties and was not set forth in the contract between the school district and the teachers union. In doing so the school district violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by failing to reasonably accommodate her religious practices, the government said.

Khan wanted to perform the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia which every adult Muslim is supposed to make at least once in a lifetime if they are physically and financially able to. Millions go each year.

Khan started as a middle school teacher for Berkeley School District 87 — about 15 miles west of Chicago — in 2007. In 2008, she asked for almost three weeks of unpaid leave to perform the Hajj. After the district twice denied her request, Khan wrote the board that "based on her religious beliefs, she could not justify delaying performing hajj," and resigned shortly thereafter, according to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that in California...

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- An Orange County inmate who disliked salami got special meals after declaring his religious belief in the Festivus holiday celebrated on the television show "Seinfeld."

The Orange County Register reports Monday that 38-year-old convicted drug dealer Malcolm Alarmo King asked for kosher meals at the Theo Lacy jail to maintain his healthy physique.

But sheriff's officials reserve kosher meals for inmates with a religious need.

Judge Derek G. Johnson demanded a religious reason for King to receive the meals and defense attorney Fred Thiagarajah cited his client's devotion to Festivus -- a holiday celebrated on "Seinfeld" with an aluminum pole and the airing of grievances.

Mr. President, Are You Listening?

From Investor's Business Daily:

"Please, Mr. President, you and your economic team of born-again Keynesian central planners have had your chance.

Remember having to fire Christina Romer, among others, for forecasting your $800 billion stimulus bill would keep the jobless rate below 8%? Now, private economists are forecasting a 10% rate for next year. For the first time, the U.S. is facing Euro-style structural unemployment. This is no time to be raising taxes.

Yet, in a sign that ideology still trumps reality, Romer's replacement carries on the discredited tax-and-spend torch.

White House chief economist Austan Goolsbee remains opposed to renewing tax cuts for individuals earning $200,000 a year or more, demagogued by House Democrats who last week voted against it as a "millionaires' tax cut" and even "billionaires' tax cut."

"Why borrow $700 billion to pay for tax cuts that are not going to go into the economy immediately?" Goolsbee protested even in the wake of the depressing jobs report.

In fact, studies show cuts in individual tax rates encourage new business startups and new job creation. They fueled hiring in last decade's recovery as well as in the '80s. And they didn't have to be "paid for." Federal receipts soared as the tax base expanded.

An unrepentant Obama insists the lopsided election was a referendum on the economy and not a repudiation of his policies. He says voters were "not thinking clearly" when they voted for change.

Who's not thinking clearly, Mr. President?"

Straight Talk From Allen West

"…we can not allow them to come in to our country and proselytize in their mosques and talking about overthrowing our government, our constitutional democracy, saying they want to replace it with sharia, and then we say that’s ok, that’s freedom of speech, that’s freedom of religion;that’s not, that’s sedition…this is not going away…there are two ways you end the war…you win or you lose…

How do you fight against a guy who is willing to die, you grant him his wish, ok…you kill these guys…"

If this guy ever runs for President, Ted Nugent could be his VP.

Straight Talk on Security

Words of wisdom from Louisiana Governor, and possible Republican presidential candidate, Bobby Jindal who appeared yesterday on "Meet the Press":

...this is about fighting an enemy that hates our way of life...This is a fundamental clash of cultures. ... This isn't, well, let's go and figure out a way to apologize for Americans. This isn't how we offended them because we're supporting Israel"

"You look at some of President Obama's writings, you look at how he talks about, 'Well, we need to understand the disadvantaged background, this is a matter of social justice and more foreign aid.' Nonsense. The analysts have looked at the terrorists that are coming at us of a disproportionate share or educated, come from privileged backgrounds>"

"It's so hard to understand why they're so worried about the terrorists' rights and not our rights," Jindal said. "You go back to the Miranda rights for the underwear bomber. What evidence did they need? I mean they caught him with a device. What was the purpose?"

The Great American Health Care Waver Scam

Republican Senator Pat Roberts comments from the floor last week:

"…I have been shocked by the number of Obamacare waivers that have been coming out of the Department of Health and Human Services. According to the New York Times, one hundred and eleven waivers have been granted to employers to allow them to avoid the new health insurance mandates.

The only thing more shocking than the number of waivers is who is getting them. Would you believe that they are some of the most ardent supporters of health care reform?

Unions like the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the United Federation of Teachers, and the Transport Workers Union have all applied for and been granted waivers from the rules.

The fact is, Obamacare is bad for business, bad for workers, bad for seniors, and bad for taxpayers."

Rush Limbaugh hits on some of the low water marks coming from the Obama Administration regarding it's health care 'reform':

And here is Michelle Malkin discussing the topic:

I'd be interested to learn of the total number of waver requests, how many are unions compared to the percentage the unions made up of those approved.

Christian Prisoners Used as Organ Donors

Too horrifying to consider what these people went through, an evil so dark compares to the worse events that man has inflicted on their fellow humans.

And who did the Clinton Administration support?

Why does history seem to point out that liberals are always siding with the wrong people? Where are the liberals screeching about an American President using bad and/or twisted intelligence as a prelude to war?

More peace and understanding from our Muslims friends

Meanwhile Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State for President Obama, criticizes our European allies for not being tolerant enough of Islam:

WASHINGTON – US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton criticized Wednesday the state of religious freedom in Europe, as Washington highlighted policies and attitudes toward Muslim veils and Islam as a whole.

“Several European countries have placed harsh restrictions on religious expression,” Clinton said, without elaborating as she unveiled the State Department’s report on international religious freedom for the last year.

Her assistant secretary for human rights, Michael Posner, cited France’s ban on wearing the niqab and other face coverings in public places and a Swiss motion passed last year that bans building new minarets.

Both measures have been criticized as intolerant moves stigmatizing Europe’s growing Muslim population.

Posner acknowledged “growing sensitivity and tension in Europe” over Islam. “What we are urging our European friends to do is to take every measure to try to alleviate that tension,” he added.

The different attitudes toward Muslims in Europe and the United States are the source of frequent tensions and misunderstandings between both sides of the Atlantic.

“We have gone to court in the United States to enforce the right of Muslim women and girls to wear a burqa, and on the streets, in schools, et cetera,” said Posner.

“That’s our position. It’s a position we articulate when we talk to our European friends.”

A Spooky Halloween Stimulus Story

I was at a Halloween costume party, and struck up a conversation with a hippy. At least I believe he was a hippy, he could have been from the '70s TV show 'Mod Squad". It was kind of hard to tell and I didn't consider it proper Halloween etiquette to ask. He had recently moved here after losing his job in California. And the crazy thing was he lost his job due to the stimulus bill.

He was a contractor that was somehow involved with troops preparing to ship out to the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. From what I could pick up he was a high end physical trainer that worked with troops for 3 weeks in the California desert educating them and getting them physically ready for deployment. But after the stimulus bill was passed, someone in the government decided they needed to terminate his contract, and the contracts of others doing the same work, so they could 'create' new job doing the exact same thing. But the real beauty of this plan is that because the people who replaced them are government employees, rather then contractors, they receive better pay and full benefits. In fact, the new jobs payed so well the government could afford to hire one new employee for every three contractors. Yep, we traded 1 employee trainer for every 3 contract trainers. So now our troops have 1/3 as many people preparing them for desert deployment then they did prior to Congress passing the stimulus bill. BUT someone in the inner bowels of our government bureaucracy can add to the number of jobs 'created' by the stimulus. These are the same people who want to control our health care system.

The best part: My Halloween hippy friend also told me these new government employees are union members.

Islamic Fun at School

MALAYSIA’S parliament this week debated whether or not it was right for teachers to cane a 10-year-old boy for bringing pork to school.

The Malaysia Star reported the argument centered on whether the boy, who was caned 10 times across the hand for eating a home-cooked meal of fried rice with pork, is Muslim or Christian. If the boy was Christian he would not have broken any rules by eating pig products.

Angela Jabing said her son Basil was disciplined for eating a non-Halal meal. She is a Christian and her husband, Beginda Minda, has denied being a Muslim.

The Star reported that a decree issued by the National Fatwa Council means that if either parent is Muslim the child must be Muslim.

“I admit I was a Muslim before. But in 1999, I changed my religion. Now I am a non-Muslim,” Beginda said.

The government is now investigating whether Beginda is a Muslim or non-Muslim.

“Only after this can conclusions be drawn on why his son was caned,” said government minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz.

In most Muslim countries, anyone who's father is Muslim is also seen as Muslim by birth regardless of what choices and claims they may make later in life. Unless of course your last name is Obama.

Obama Trip a Bust

The Emperor comes home with no clothes. From ABC News

From the New York Daily News:

"President Obama is coming home from his overseas trip pretty much empty-handed.

After watching his party take a beating in the midterm elections, Obama wasn’t able to secure even a symbolic victory on a trip that was expected to give him plenty of opportunities to claim a win.

“This certainly was the worst 10 days of his political life,” said Baruch College political scientist Doug Muzzio. “Given that he’s not going to be able to get any domestic achievements with the Republicans in control of the House … if he doesn’t do it in foreign policy that’s a big problem for him.

“He came back with bupkis [Yiddish for 'nothing'].”

Obama’s inauspicious 10-day, four-nation trip included a failure to land an anticipated slam dunk free trade agreement with South Korea.

It also included a botched effort to rally Western allies to press China to budge on a monetary policy that threatens to keep the U.S. economy in the tank.

Yet Obama appeared to shrug off the lack of results during summit meetings with the world’s most powerful leaders.

“Naturally, there’s an instinct to focus on the disagreements, because otherwise, these summits might not be very exciting; it’s just a bunch of world leaders sitting around intervening,” Obama told reporters in South Korea.

“What’s remarkable is that in each of these successive summits we’ve actually made real progress,” he added, without anything of substance to point to."

Even MSNBC Chris Mathews is starting to ask questions:

And the Washington Post goes 'all in', calling on the President not to seek re-election:

"We do not come to this conclusion lightly. But it is clear, we believe, that the president has largely lost the consent of the governed. The midterm elections were effectively a referendum on the Obama presidency. And even if it was not an endorsement of a Republican vision for America, the drubbing the Democrats took was certainly a vote of no confidence in Obama and his party. The president has almost no credibility left with Republicans and little with independents…

Obama can restore the promise of the election by forging a government of national unity, bringing business leaders, Republicans and independents into the fold. But if he is to bring Democrats and Republicans together, the president cannot be seen as an advocate of a particular party, but as somebody who stands above politics, seeking to forge consensus. And yes, the United States will need nothing short of consensus if we are to reduce the deficit and get spending under control, to name but one issue.

Forgoing another term would not render Obama a lame duck. Paradoxically, it would grant him much greater leverage with Republicans and would make it harder for opponents such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) – who has flatly asserted that his highest priority is to make Obama a one-term president – to be uncooperative.

And for Democrats such as current Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) – who has said that entitlement reform is dead on arrival – the president’s new posture would make it much harder to be inflexible. Given the influence of special interests on the Democratic Party, Obama would be much more effective as a figure who could remain above the political fray. Challenges such as boosting economic growth and reducing the deficit are easier to tackle if you’re not constantly worrying about the reactions of senior citizens, lobbyists and public employee unions."

$535 Million of Taxpayer Money Later...

Here's a big shocker: based upon current market conditions, green jobs are not economically feasible. But for Obama and the Democrats that isn't a problem as long as you and I keep paying taxes.

The Agenda Behind the Money Allegations

The Obama White House has been making allegations that "shadowy groups" and foreign interests are pouring money into to the midterm elections in an attempt to influence your vote and destroy our democracy.

On October 7, at a fund raiser in Bowie Maryland, the President said, "It is estimated the Democratic groups are being outspend seven to one. We're going to need to fight their millions of dollars with millions of voices."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi D-(elusional) followed that up by claiming Democrats were being outspent eight to one. The Huffington Post, never one to miss a good liberal bandwagon said the numbers were $200 million from GOP leaning 527 groups compared to a paltry $7 million supporting the Democrat cause.

The Wall Street Journal did their own math and came up with a different answer:

So the math here comes out quit a bit different then what the President and his supports have been arguing. In fact it would appear possible that the unions are the largest spenders, which pushes overall spending more in the Democrats favor.

Of course raising concerns regrading your opponents fundraising is nothing new. Although most in the media have forgotten the untraceable money that came into the Obama Presidential campaign. Jim Geraghty of the National Review points out this inconvenient truth:

"Very few Americans seemed to care about these allegations of foreign donations or donations using stolen credit card numbers back in 2008. It interfered with the narrative, I guess, even though it would seem to be a fairly huge story; we are indeed talking about huge amounts. By one count, $63 million came to Obama from foreign sources. Even if that figure is exaggerated tenfold, this is still a big deal.

It’s not only hypocritical for President Obama, of all figures, to suddenly thunder about the menace of sinister foreign money helping the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; in 2008, we had actual evidence of foreign money ending up in Obama campaign coffers. (We had it in 1996 with Bill Clinton’s reelection campaign, too.) It was deemed a back-pages story and perhaps even a bit xenophobic."

So why would the President choose THIS message as the one to go after? Some have speculated it's because the Democrats don't want to talk about health care prior to the election. I have a different theory.

The President is looking to 2012. His fear is that of being a one term president. The history books will record him as the first black President*. That asterisk will add the footnote that his single term was spent pushing an agenda that was utterly rejected by the country, and his presidency was a complete failure that set the progressive moment back 30 years.

President Obama needs to win a second term in order to have history validate his agenda of 'Hope and Change' rather then simply note he was a good orator who became the most un-prepared and divisive president in history. And at this point in time with the coming tsunami about to sweep the Democrats out of majority, it appears the only hope the President has in winning a second term is to find a boogie man to blame it all on. What better then nameless, faceless "shadowy groups", akin to the "vast right-wing conspiracy" of the Clinton administration. 'They' are pouring money into negative attack ads, distorting both Obama's many accomplishments and his agenda. My belief is that we better prepare ourselves of hearing how Obama's message is being twisted, he is being blocked by the 'party of no' from forging ahead and pushing America to even greater heights.

No doubt he is counting on Americans forgetting his "I won" response to Republican looking for compromise, and of Republicans being locked out of committee meetings (he knows he can count on the media not bringing it up).

As things sit today, his only hope in getting re-elected is to spend the next two year convincing Americans that every one's lives would be better, if it just wasn't for all those phantom radical right wing groups who bought the election, and that wacky, racist tea party hijacking the Republican controlled House. Loosing the House in the 2010 midterms will be due simply to the election being bought in the worse corruption conspiracy since Bush stole Florida from Gore. The only thing standing between us and total destruction of our country is him. Our only hope for the future will be to keep in him office in 2012.

Otherwise he is just a guy who gave good speeches, who was grossly over hyped and under qualified for the office, and who became the most divisive President in history.

"When they can’t win a debate (can they ever?), leftists deploy what the late novelist/philosopher Ayn Rand called “the argument from intimidation.” Instead of trying to refute the other side, they label their opponents’ position evil, attribute sinister motives to its adherents, and charge that its proponents are encouraging violence." - Don Feder

Lizards Have Rights Too!

If you don't vote for a Democrat, you're a lizard...or something...

"What I’m saying is that people are operating out of fear and anxiety at the moment. And when they operate out of fear and anxiety, they operate out of what they call their “lizard brains.” And “lizard brains” are not susceptible to rationality."

So Lizards can vote, they just aren't rational.

Voice From Obama's Closet: 'Ideology Hiding in Plain Sight

This acquaintance from Obama's college days at Occidental College has surfaced before, but this is the most detailed interview of him I've seen. Click on text to read the entire interview.
