The Case for Mexican Immigration Law

As the President of Mexico has pointed out, Mexico's policy toward immigration is far more advanced and thought out then ours. Michael Waller at the think tank Center for Security Policy has written an interesting case for the US adapting Mexico's immigration policy and laws:

At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in

line with foreign legal norms, it’s noteworthy that nobody has argued that the US look at

how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve

our illegal immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that

foreign visitors and immigrants are:

• in the country legally;

• have the means to sustain themselves economically;

• not destined to be burdens on society;

• of economic and social benefit to society;

• of good character and have no criminal records; and

• contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

The law also ensures that:

• immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;

• foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;

• foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;

• foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;

• foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;

• those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution

strictly defines the rights of citizens – and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-

citizens, illegal and illegal.

He might be on to something here. Certainly seems to warrant further discussion. Since President Obama appears to be in complete agreement with the policy of Mexico, I wouldn't be surprised to seen him form some type of Blue Ribbon Panel to evaluate and incorporate Mexico's laws into those of the US.

Obama Quietly Lifts Sanctions, Opens Nuclear Door for Iran

While you were sleeping on Friday night, the Obama State Department was quietly changing US foreign policy toward Iran. The Obama administration has made it a routine to release statements late on Fridays after the 5:00 PM news cycle. There has been speculation that this is done in order to keep changes in policy direction below the radar of the main stream media services. Today's 24/7 new cycle slows down over the weekend, people don't pay as much attention over the weekend, and maybe something else will knock it off of Monday's news cycle.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration on Friday removed sanctions against three Russian organizations the US had previously accused of assisting Iran's effort to develop nuclear weapons.

Penalties against a fourth Russian entity previously accused of illicit arms sales to Syria were also lifted.

The timing of the decisions, published in Friday's Federal Register but not otherwise announced by the State Department, suggested the possibility of a link to US efforts to win Russian support for a new UN Security Council resolution expanding sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.

Two of the entities — Dmitri Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology and the Moscow Aviation Institute — had been sanctioned in January 1999 under a 1994 executive order authorizing such action. The order was aimed at organizations determined to have contributed to a foreign country's development or production of weapons of mass destruction or missiles capable of launching such weapons.

When the administration of former US president Bill Clinton announced those sanctions, then-Energy Secretary Bill Richardson said the two institutions "directly support Iranian efforts to develop nuclear weapons."

US sanctions imposed in October 2008 against Russian state arms trader Rosoboronexport for alleged illicit assistance to Iran's nuclear program also were lifted by the State Department on Friday

The State Department on Friday also lifted sanctions against Tula Instrument Design Bureau in April 1999 for providing anti-tank guided missiles to Syria.

A cynical person may ask why is the Administration opening the door for Russia to supply nuclear technology to Iran? And why is it in America's best interest to supply anti-tank guided missiles to Syria?

You may have slept soundly in bed Friday night, however there were many people in Israel that didn't.

It appears that the Obama administration is doing all it can to ensure that this issue gets swept under the rug. Of course if you believe that it is wrong for the Black Panthers with clubs to be providing "security" at voting areas, that you're clearly a racist.

A trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Voting Rights Section has resigned, citing concerns about the government’s refusal to prosecute a case involving voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party. A letter of resignation obtained by The Washington Examiner from a former Justice Department employee makes clear DOJ has refused to allow attorneys in the Voting Rights Section to testify before the congressionally-chartered bipartisan U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, despite subpoenas that could result in their being held in contempt.

Of course all Obama wants is a fair and just system.

Nazis in the White House?

"KALAMAZOO — The White House appears to be laying the groundwork for President Barack Obama to shake the hand of each senior at Kalamazoo Central High School's commencement ceremony next month.

Seniors are being asked to provide their birthdates, Social Security numbers and citizen status to the Secret Service so background checks could be performed. Such a check is required for anyone who gets within an arm’s length of the president, students were told at their senior breakfast Friday.

Of the fact that the White House is requesting information on all the graduating seniors, K-Central Principal Von Washingon Jr. told the students, “I’ll let you figure out what that means,” said senior Simon Boehme, who was at the breakfast.

“Everyone is excited that we might have the opportunity to shake the president’s hand,” Boehme said."

So, let me see if I understand this. If the police in Arizona asked for this information they'd be Nazis, but if the White House requests it for National Security reasons that's OK?

"The Obama administration may not like to think of being at war with radical Islam, but the jihadists are definitely at war with the United States. Rather than running from the expression "radical Islam," the administration should be openly discussing the ideological motives of the terrorists and finding ways to delegitimize them. Instead of hedging, obfuscating and ignoring, these Democrats should confront the challenge frankly, openly and honestly. Pretending that a radical, violent strain of Islam does not exist will not make it go away. To the contrary, it will make the situation much worse.

President Obama's continuing solicitude toward the faith of Muhammad is inexplicable, and as these acts of denial continue, it is becoming dangerous. The United States will not defeat an enemy it is afraid to identify."

Our Southern Border

According to this report, it is not unusual for the US Border Patrol to capture individuals from Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen crossing into the US through our Southern border. A well known terrorist suspect with a $5 million bounty on his head is thought to have traveled to Atlanta by crossing that same Southern border. But of course if you believe that our federal government should take actions to secure that border, then you're a racist.
